Dear friends,

Type of the project:
Training course

Project themes:
YOUTH IN ACTION PRIOITY N.2 of ACTIVE PARTICIPATION
  • Participation of young people
  • Volunteering
  • Participation tools

    Project summary:
    Development of our society relies upon everybody’s contribution. Young people are often the ones who have got good ideas about improving different aspects in their community, but not all of them have equal opportunities and knowledge how to put it into the practice. Therefore we would like to stress the importance of helping them to use their full potential through being able and motivated to participate in the fields they care about.

    The main objectives of the course are as following:

  • To raise the awareness of active participation and its positive influence on personal and community development;
  • To become aware of the aspects that can exclude young people from participation and learn how to help them overcome these barriers;
  • To recognize what are the necessary skills to promote participation among the youth and how could they in turn motivate people at their age;
  • To introduce new forms of participation that are more attractive to young people;
  • To develop new YiA projects action 1 and 2.

    European Commission has proposed that 2011 will be the year of volunteering and above-mentioned knowledge could also be used to motivate young people to become more engaged with voluntary work. We value highly participants’ opinions so we hope to approach the topic from different angles and to see additional value that will born through group-synergy.

    The course also foresee one on-line meeting before the in presence sessions.
